All eyes of Punjabi university set on CM Punjab for its revival; CM to visit university campus

Tomorrow on Wednesday November 24,2021 chief minister of Punjab Charanjit Singh Channi is coming to Punjabi University, Patiala.
This is Channi’s maiden visit to one of the major higher education institute of Punjab-Punjabi University, Patiala. Punjab finance minister Manpreet Singh Badal will also accompany him. The chief minister is going to inaugurate two newly established centres at Punjabi University campus.
After the appointment of Prof Arvind as vice chancellor of this prestigious university, the university administration has forwarded a proposal to bring the university out of the financial crises. As per information, the university has demanded one time financial aid along with increase in their monthly grant.
Recently the vice chancellor in an unofficial chat had said that the university has requested the state government authorities to double the monthly grant. The university is expecting a special package from the chief minister, as the CM is himself interested in promoting the Punjabi language.
A letter issued by the Dean of Academic Affairs, Punjabi University said that on November 24, the Chief Minister and Finance Minister would address all the teaching faculty members and students of Punjab University at Guru Tegh Bahadur Hall. Therefore, teaching and research work in all the teaching and research departments of the University will be suspended. With the announcement of Chief Minister is coming, the Punjabi University and district administration swung into action.The deputy commissioner Sandeep Hans, ssp Patiala Harcharan singh Bhullar visited the university campus to check the security and other arrangements.

The financial crisis of Punjabi University, Patiala, is increasing day by day. The university is facing difficulty in meeting the committed expenses including payment of monthly salaries and pensions to its employees.
