Assocham & Dettol Siti shield honor farmers for not burning stubble

Efforts of Assocham and Dettol Siti Shield  proved very instrumental in pursuing farmers not to burn stubble. The organisation has played an imperative role in making aware around 20,000 farmers by conducting about 118 seminars. This was started by Harinder pal Singh-Harry Maan, ex MLA of Sanour while honouring farmers of village Kartarpur who did not burn stubble.

He stated that more than 100 farmers who were made aware about the negative impacts of stubble burning by Assocham in collaboration with Dettol Siti Shield were honoured. These farmers did not burn stubble after being pursued by the organisation.

Sanur Block sameeti chairman Aswani Batra said it’s too important for us to change habits and adopt some good habits to save our environment for next generations.

Ranjit kumar project manager Assocham & Dettol siti shield program manager asked the farmers & youth to join the campaign to aware more & more people on the issue of burning.

While honoring the farmer Harinder pal Singh Harry Mann said“I am highly impressed and would congratulate Assocham & Dettol siti shield for this initiative. I applaud their efforts to help the Government in ensuring better air quality and good health for future generations of Punjab”.He also stated that Chief Minister of Punjab, Captain Amarinder Singh is seriously monitoring the stubble burning issue in Punjab. These campaign aims to arrest the impact of air pollution caused due to agricultural stubble burning, by educating farming and allied groups to adopt alternative options and also provide solutions of recycling stubble.

Dr Vikash Goyal M D Chest & T B of Mata Kausalya hospital -Patiala has given information about increasing diseases due to air pollution level in these days.
