Baba Farid College convocation,200 students got degrees

Bathinda: At campus of Baba Farid Group of Institutions, Baba Farid College organized its 4th convocation in which pass out students of B.Sc.(Agriculture-4 Years) and B.Sc.(Agriculture ) Integrated of Batch 2006-10 to 2013-2017 participated. Prof. (Dr.) Sardar Singh Johal, Chancellor, Central University of Punjab, Bathinda was the Chief Guest. The ceremony was started after lighting the auspicious lamp at the event by the Chief Guest and other dignitaries.

Dr. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal, Chairman, Baba Farid Group of Institutions (BFGI) welcomed all the guests and expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Guest and other dignitaries for sparing valuable time. He said it is proud moment for us to organize BFC’s 4th annual convocation. He offered 12 acre land to Agriculure department for research and live projects of Students. He informed that during the international conference being organized by the Department of Agriculture in the coming November, BFGI is going to sign a M.O.U. with Indian Institute of Food Processing Technology, Tamil Nadu. He said that the Department of Agriculture has a large number of highly qualified and experienced faculty under whose leadership the students are continuously receiving university merits and highlighting the institution’s name. Nepalese students and students from other states of India are feeling proud to be educating here. He congratulated all the guests, teachers and students for the successful conduct of this convocation.

Chief Guest of the Convocation, Prof. (Dr.) Sardar Singh Johal congratulated BFGI on 4th successful convocation of Baba Farid College. Dr. Johal while motivating the students said that getting a degree is not an end to the knowledge, but it is the beginning with which you are able to acquire more knowledge. So they should work towards the betterment of society with sincere efforts and he also motivte them to work practically. He encouraged the students to stop water pollution and air pollution and mobilize them against drugs. He said that we should be proud of being an Indian while respecting national sentiments. Simultaneously, he addressed the teachers and said that the society and the nation are in the hands of the teacher; he can improve society or make a mess.
