B.Com-I ,90% cut-off at Govt. Bikram College of Commerce
Patiala-Govt. Bikram College of Commerce, Patiala, a premier and a renowned institute of Commerce of the Northern region which is the first choice for commerce stream among the students has concluded its admission for 2018 in B.Com part- I with 90% cut-off. In the session 2017-18 two students have added feather in the cap of GBCC by securing positions i.e. Diksha Bansal a student of M.Com-II Sem-III has topped the Punjabi University merit list with 9.8 CGP (98%) and Riya Singla of B.Com-III has got IInd position in the Punjabi University merit list by securing 86.9% marks.
Besides this, the college has achieved towering results in M.Com-II and B.com-III classes, 8 students of M.Com-II secured more than 90%, 25 students secured between 80% to 90% and 6 secured above 70% marks. Whereas 25 students of B.Com-III got above 80%, 170 students got up to 80%, 89 students got up to 70% and only 3 students got up to 60%.
The orientation programme for the session 2018-19 was conducted for two consecutive days under the aegis of Principal, Dr. Harminder Kaur. Speaking on this occasion the Principal of the college welcomed the new entrants and motivated the students to achieve higher goals. In this two days orientation programme students were made aware of the various facilities, activities, societies, and clubs available in the college by the respective Heads. Talent hunt competition was also organized in which students not only participated but also displayed their remarkable skills in quiz, giddha, singing, and debate.
