“Black Day for Democracy”: AAP on Manish Sisodia arrest

As expected, deputy chief minister of Delhi and senior aam admi party leader Manish Sisodia was arrested on Sunday by the CBI in the Delhi liquor scam case after he was questioned for around eight hours.
Sisodia was named as an accused in the Delhi liquor case and was called for questioning earlier too. Sisodia was called for questioning by the investigating agency central bureau of investigation (CBI) on Sunday in connection with the Delhi liquor scam. Before joining the probe, Sisodia expressed apprehension about getting arrested today.
After arresting Sisodia, the CBI issued a statement and explained that Sisodia was evasive in his replies and that’s why he was arrested.
The investigating agency CBI registered a against Sisodia, the excise minister, and 14 others for alleged irregularities in the framing and implementation of excise policy 2021-22.
Before joining the CBI probe, Manish Sisodia visited Raj Ghat and pay respect at the Samadhi of Mahatma Gandhi, interacted with his followers and tweeted “Going to CBI again today will cooperate fully in the entire investigation. The love of lakhs of children and the blessings of crores of countrymen are with us. I don’t care if I have to stay in jail for a few months. I am a follower of Bhagat Singh who was hanged for the country. It is a small thing to go to jail because of such false allegations.”

After his arrest, aam admi supremo and chief minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal tweeted said Manish Sisodia is innocent. Sisodia’s arrest is dirty politics and people will give a reply. There is a lot of anger among the people due to the arrest of Manish. Everyone is watching and people are understanding everything. People will respond to this. This will boost our spirits further. Our struggle will get stronger.”

“Black Day for Democracy”: AAP on Manish Sisodia arrest. Earlier Sisodia was called on October 17, 2022 for answering questions. As per CBI during that time he evaded the questions relating to his incriminating role based on evidence collected during the investigation of the case. Then he was issued a notice to join the investigation on February 19 but he sought one week’s time citing his preoccupation in preparing Delhi government annual budget and other important issues.
