Marking the beginning of a new era for the comprehensive development of Nangal city, Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains, in his capacity as Minister for Local Government, today held the first special meeting with the newly elected AAP councillors and concerned officials at the Nangal Municipal Council. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held regarding the all-round development of the city and several important decisions were taken.
During the meeting, Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains made it clear that all promises made to the residents of Nangal before the elections would now be fulfilled one by one within a fixed timeframe. Instructions have already been issued for immediate action to resolve the long-pending issues of the city.
On this occasion, he said that during the Municipal Council elections in Nangal, he had announced 7 guarantees for the city. These included providing a permanent solution to the drinking water problem, modernising the sewerage system, improving the street lighting system, installing modern CCTV cameras, commissioning paintings and artwork to enhance the city’s beauty, renovating all parks in the city, and establishing four new libraries. Directions have been issued to the concerned officials to initiate these and several other development works.
He further stated that every Monday, direct meetings will be held with the residents of the city at the Nangal Municipal Council office so that people’s problems can be heard and prompt action can be ensured for their resolution on the spot. He said that making Nangal a modern, beautiful, and developed city is our primary objective, and no effort will be spared in achieving this goal. With the cooperation of the people, new benchmarks of development will be established in Nangal.

The Cabinet Minister said that a new phase of development has now begun in Nangal city, and every promise of development will now be implemented on the ground. He stated that during the previous period, the development of Nangal city was completely neglected. Instead of carrying out public welfare works, the previous council pushed the city towards deterioration, resulting in the worsening condition of basic amenities. Development schemes meant for the city were not properly implemented, and the fundamental problems of the public were ignored. He added that it is surprising that machinery worth lakhs and crores of rupees remained lying unused and deteriorating for years in the Municipal Council office, but no one paid attention to it.
The Cabinet Minister said that this is not merely administrative negligence but also an open wastage of public money. He said that the new team will now ensure the proper utilisation of every piece of machinery provided by the government, restart stalled development works, and bring the city back on the path of progress. He stated that our objective is to overcome the failures of the past and transform Nangal into a modern, beautiful, and well-managed city.
On this occasion, Manjot Singh, Jaspreet Singh, Kamla Devi, Lovely Angran, Kashish Verma, Hardeep Singh Bains, Kiran Bala, (all Councillors), along with Narendrajit Singh, Sukhchain, Mukesh Verma, Anil Kumar Gupta, and other officials were present.
