Punjab chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi, yesterday evening who was in Delhi to meet home minister Amit Shah and came back to Chandigarh, late night was once again called to Delhi again. He left for Delhi today early morning

As per reports, Charanjit Singh Channi along with Chattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel, Rajasthan deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot and congress leader KC Venugopal were part of five member delegation of Rahul Gandhi who were going to Lakhimpur Kheri.

But UP govt didn’t allow them to fly. The Uttar Pradesh government has denied permission to a Congress delegation led by Rahul Gandhi to visit the violence-hit Lakhimpur Kheri where the authorities have imposed restrictions under Section 144.

On imposition of section 144 Rahul Gandhi said that “a three member delegation of Congress-Rahul Gandhi, Punjab chief minister  Charanjit Singh Channi and Chattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel will go to Lucknow/ Lakhimpur Kheri.”

As per sources  Rahul Gandhi would also meet sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra who has been kept at the PAC guest house in Sitapur since Monday.

PPCC President has already announced that “If, by today, the Union Minister’s son behind the brutal murder of Farmers is not arrested, and our leader Priyanka Gandhi being unlawfully arrested, fighting for farmers is not released, the Punjab Congress will march towards Lakhimpur Kheri !”

Apart from Congress leaders, other Opposition leaders from Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Samajwadi Party and BSP, have also been detained by the UP government and prevented from going to Lakhimpur Kheri.

On Sunday, Union minister Ajay Mishra’s son, Ashish Mishra, allegedly run over a group of farmers protesting in front of his vehicle in Lakhimpur Kheri, killing four farmers on the spot. The horrific incident allegedly led to clashes, resulting in four more deaths.
