Col Bath assault case update: SIT begins investigation; releases mobile number to share information

Today, the new special investigation team (SIT) under the command of one of the best Punjab Police officer ADGP AS Rai and his team begin the investigation in the infamous Col. Pushpinder Singh bath assault case.
Col. Pushpinder Singh Bath and his son were allegedly assaulted by 12 police personnel on March 13, 2025 night.
The new SIT team comprising ADGP Amardeep Singh Rai, IPS, Hoshiarpur SSP Sandeep Mailk, IPS, SP (Rural), Mohali Manpreet Singh, PPS reached Patiala to start the investigation. The team reached at the incident site, outside Govt Rajindra Hospital, Patiala and collected the evidences.
Later briefing the media Rai confirmed that the investion will be done in fair manner. No one will be spared.” He further added that “ the SIT requests the all the eye-witnesses, anyone who have any information, video, evidences can contact the members of the SIT. He or She can also come to Circuit House Patiala on April 2,2025 between 11 am-2 pm to share information with the SIT. In addition to this they can contact Dalbir Singh Sidhu, DSP Baghapurana at 75083-00342”
Rai further added that the independent department Central Govt Forensic Laboratory (CFSL) will check CCTV camera footage. The SIT will also check the mobile phone location and other technical aspects related to the crime that will help the investigation team .

The special investigation team (SIT), headed by Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) SPS Parmar, was constituted on March 21 after a fresh FIR in the case was lodged by the police on the statement of the Col Pushpinder Singh Bath. After Parmar was made chief director vigilance, the govt appointed AS Rai another ADGP ranked officer as the head of the SIT.
No member from Col. Bath’s family met the SIT team as they are at Chandigarh to meet chief minister Bhagwant Singh Mann .
