Community Medicine Department in Government Medical College Patiala celebrated World Health Day
The Community Medicine Department in Government Medical College Patiala celebrated World Health Day by organizing a poster competition by medical students on the theme of the day Our Planet – Our Health along with tree plantation.
Speaking during the programme, Dr Simmi Oberoi Professor and Head of the department said that the day by day increasing environmental pollution is the biggest threat to our planet responsible for preventable causes of more than one million global deaths. There is urgent need to encourage and motivate people to plant more and more trees, save water, eat healthy food and lead a healthy life style.
Director Principal of the college Dr. Harjinder Singh distributed certificates to the medical students who participated in the poster competition and awarded the winners.
Deputy Medical Superintendent of Rajindra Hospital Dr. Vinod Dangwal, National Service Scheme Programme Officer of the college Dr. D. S. Bhullar, Dr. Renu Bansal, Dr. Anjleen Kaur and Dr. Neetu Sharma remained present during the programme along with Dr. Ravinder Khera, Dr. Puneet Gambhir, Dr. RS Balgir, Dr. Vishal Malhotra and Dr. Balpreet Kaur of the department.
