Congress MP from Punjab set to join BJP; might be appointed Governor for turncoating

Better half of former congress chief minister of Punjab Capt Amarinder Singh, now a BJP leader, Preneet Kaur, member parliament from Patiala is set to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) next week.
Speculations are rife that she is going be adjusted with a post of governorship and her daughter will be saffron party candidate from Patiala for upcoming parliamentary elections.
Preneet Kaur, a suspended by her party Congress for alleged anti-party activities, is openly supporting the saffron party in her parlaimentary constituency, Patiala since her husband and her daughter joins BJP.
She remained union minister of state for external affairs ,four-time Patiala MP Preneet Kaur, is a prominent face of the Congress in the royal city.
As per available information Preneet Kaur is waiting for the right moment to leave her mother party and join saffron party as now there is no threat of anti-defection law. With the last session of the 17th Lok Sabha completed, she is free to join his husband’s party.
In February 2023, Preneet was suspended by the Congress for alleged anti-party activities, prompted by complaints from Punjab Congress chief Amarinder Raja Warring, accusing her of aiding the BJP in Punjab.
Preneet had distanced herself from Congress’ activities following her husband’s unceremonial removal from the chief ministerial post in 2021.
She didn’t participated in Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ in Punjab and openely campaigned against the party in the 2022 assembly elections. Additionally, she voted against the party line when Mahua Moitra was expelled.
When issued a show-cause notice by the party, she chose not to respond, daring the party “to take whatever action it wants to.”
Having contested five Lok Sabha elections from Congress in Patiala since 1999, Preneet won four except in 2014.
