DC Patiala injects get-up-and-go spirit in youngsters on Eve of Children’s day

Deputy Commissioner, Patiala acted as a stimulus for creative minds and Patiala lovers. There’s no better way to celebrate children’s day than celebrated by District Administration Patiala.

A prize distribution function was organised at MM Central State Library Patiala to acknowledge the winners of the Short Story Writing competition on the topic My District Patiala.

The winners of the Mera District Patiala Subject competition namely, adult writers Nirlep Kaur Sekhon and Buta Khan Sukhi, College Category First Prize Mamta, School Category First Prize went to Paramjit Kaur and Second Prize Sahajpreet Kaur were awarded a certificate and life membership of the Central Library.

DC Patiala Sakshi Sawhney showed her sincere efforts to hone the reading and writing skills of youngsters through this competition. During her speech on the occasion, she announced the setting up of a language lab at Central library Patiala. District Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney rolled out the plan for the publication of entries along with pictures showing the heritage of the Royal City.

DC Patiala also showed her intentions to digitalize and improve the city library. Chief Librarian Dr Prabhjot Kaur, DDF Priya Singh Judges Dr Harpreet Singh Rana and Gurpreet Kaur, both from education Department were also present on the occasion.
