BBMB organized ‘on the spot’ State Level Painting Competition on Energy Conservation

‘On the spot ‘c on ‘Energy Conservation 2022’was organized by Bhakra Beas Management Board (as the Nodal Agency for States- Punjab, Haryana & UT- Chandigarh)at Inderdhanush Auditorium, Panchkula on the eve of Children’s Day i.e. 14.11.2022.The painting competition was for the classes 5th, 6th & 7th (Group ‘A’) & 8th, 9th & 10th (Group ‘B’) and thereafter 330 participants i.e. 55 children from each Group of each state/UT were shortlisted for this competition.

Banwarilal Purohit, Governor of Punjab and Administrator UT, Chandigarh graced this function as the Chief Guest. Sanjay Srivastava, Chairman, Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) welcomed the Chief Guest on his arrival at the function and the Chief Guest along with Chairman, Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) and other senior officers of BBMB inaugurated the function by lightening the ceremonial lamp. Students of BBMB DAV Public School, Nangal presented a cultural programme.

While addressing the audience, the Chief Guest appreciated the enthusiasm of the children from the states of Punjab, Haryana & UT Chandigarh as well as their awareness towards the energy conservation. He congratulated the winners while giving cash prizes of Rs.50,000/-, Rs.30,000/- & Rs.20,000/- to first three winners of each Group of each State/UT. Ten consolation prizes for each Group amounting to 7500/- were also given to the runner-up participants from each State/UT.

Sanjay Srivastava Chairman, BBMB in his address, while appreciating the paintings of children, said that these children are the future of nation and have the potential in them by depicting ‘energy conservation’ themeinto such beautiful paintings and to inculcate good habits in their surrounding localities in effective manner. Balvir Singh Sinhmar, Director/Security & Consultancy cum Nodal officer, BBMB delivered the vote of thanks.
