DC urges Rupnagar residents to celebrate green diwali

To make the environment safe, Deputy Commissioner Rupnagar Dr. Preeti Yadav appealed to the residents of the district to celebrate Green Diwali because the problem of pollution is very serious and it is affecting us all.
She said that on the day of Diwali on October 24, firecrackers can be burst in the state for two hours only from 8 pm to 10 pm. Along with this, only green firecrackers have been allowed to be bought and sold.
She said that there is a complete ban on firecrackers containing toxic chemicals like lithium, barium etc. Apart from this, buying and selling of firecrackers has been allowed at official places. She said that green crackers should be encouraged to deal with environmental pollution.
