Desh Bhagat University’s Faculty Member Bagged the Punjab State Award

It is very proud moment for Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh that Dr. Rahul Dhiman, Assistant Professor, Department of Fine Arts was honored with the Punjab State Award (State Art Exhibition 2023), the cash amount of Rs.11,000 and a memento. The award ceremony was organised by the Indian Academy of Fine Arts, Amritsar.

Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University congratulated Dr. Rahul Dhiman for this wonderful achievement. He also said that the department of fine arts has always been hard working, focused and this award has added to their list of achievements. The award was presented to Dr. Rahul Dhiman by Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar,  Cabinet Minister of Punjab.

Dr. Rahul Dhiman said that an exhibition was also organised in this award ceremony. In the exhibition, 300 artists from all over the country sent their art works, out of which 183 art works were selected for the exhibition. Out of the selected works, 20 artists were given the Punjab State Award.

An art work entitled “Path of Truth”, created by Dr. Rahul Dhiman, Assistant Professor from the Department of Fine Arts, Desh Bhagat University was selected to be showcased in the exhibition. Along with this, the art works of his students Mahima, Jatin, Muskan ,Arun, Gurpreet were also selected for the exhibition. It is worth mentioning that Dr. Rahul Dhiman has won many state and national awards in fine arts as well as in Punjabi folk dance
