Dog Breed competitions draw great crowds at National Livestock Championship

As part of 10th National Livestock Championship and Expo- 2017 organized by Punjab Government Department of Animal Husbandry held here and inaugurated by the Punjab Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh on this Friday, dog breed competitions were held for as many as 25 different breeds and cash prizes worth Rs 5 lac were disbursed amongst the winning dog owners.

There was lot of enthusiasm and excitement among the dog owners as well as the onlookers. The different breeds small, medium and large were all spruced up and looked elegant.

Dr. Amarjeet Singh Director Animal Husbandry disclosed that in Beagle female dogs belonging to Lovepreet Singh of village Khuda (Patiala) was the winner in its category and won cash prize of  Rs 4000/- 

In Cocker Spaniel male category Gurpreet Singh of village Khoje Mazra (Fatehgarh Sahib) won the first Prize which entailed cash of  Rs 4000/-.

In Bull terrier male category, Prabhjot Singh of village Danger Khera  (Fazilka) won first prize of Rs 4000/-.

Likewise, Cocker spaniel of Gurpreet Singh village Khoje Majra ( Fatehgarh Sahib) made him richer by Rs 4000/- winning first prize.

In Dachshund female category, Nand Lal of village Johal (Jalandhar) won the first prize and in male, Satnam of Rama Mandi (Jalandhar) came on the top.

In Dalmation female category Sandeep Singh of Sangrur was the winner. Whereas in Gaddi male category, Jatinder Singh of village Rupana (Mukatsar) came on the top and in same breed female category, Sukhbir Singh of Village Kheri Gurna (Patiala) won the honours.

In Labrador retriever breed male, honours went to Paramjit Singh of Fatehgarh Sahib and in female category went to Joginder Singh of Talwandi Sabo.

In Golden retriever male, winner was Ajay Kumar of Nabha and in female Gurpreet Singh of  Khoje majra ( Fatehgarh Sahib) .

In great Dane male, Baba Balbir of  Patiala won first prize of Rs. 4000/- and in female, Anita of Model House (Jalandhar) came out with flying colours.

In Pointer female Anil Kumar of Jalandhar won first prize and in male category Satnam of  Batala won the top position.

In Pug male, Harvinder Singh of village Bhakker and in female category Bant Singh of village Shaheedgarh ( Fatehgarh Sahib) came on the top.

In Rottweiler male, Gagandeep Singh of Village Ramgarh Saini and in female category Surinder Singh of village Jindalpur (Patiala) won the first prize of Rs 4000/- each.
