Dr. Damanjit Sandhu briefed students about cyber crime

Dr. Damanjit Sandhu Professor Psychology, Punjabi University, Patiala addressed a webinar organised by prestigious Strawberry School,  Chandigarh while celebrating Digital Citizenship Week.

The theme of the webinar was Online Safety for Children and Adolescents. Dr. Damanjit Sandhu renowned psychologist briefed the students about various risks of cybercrime. She also apprehended about India’s ranking in cybercrime world. She told that during lock down period when parents allowed their children to use digital platforms to the fullest at that time cybercrime world became much active and started targeting the students.

She very nicely differentiated between old bullying techniques and latest technology bullying techniques. She alerted young children about disadvantages of cyber crime which could damage their careers. She also suggested Strawberry school students that if something wrong happens to anyone in cyber world the report that matter immediately to either parents or teachers. She also explained about various threats to the society through cybercrime.

She alerted the students about various mischievous things that are happening through cyber world and cautioned them to use digital platforms very cautiously.

Amardeep Singh Rai Additional DGP Intelligence, Punjab explained various legal provisions pertaining to cyber crimes and very impressively briefed the students about various law provisions and police sections about cyber bullying. He also explained about punishments for act of cyber bullying under various sections of information technology act 2000.

Kawyam student of school conducted the show very nicely. At last school children had a very healthy question answer round. Around 125 students attended the webinar.
