Dr Khushdev bust be installed at Old Kotwali Chowk-NTAS

Patiala -Theatre activists, social workers, arts-heritage lovers of Patiala and artists of National Theatre Arts Society (NTAS) assembled at International Punjabi Theatre Day Celebrations at Bhasha Bhavan fervently appealed to Patiala Municipal Corporation to rename Purani Kotwali Chowk as Dr. Khushdeva Singh Chowk and install his bust at the premises to inspire public.

Socio-theatre activist, NTAS director Pran Sabharwal, fellow Theatre & Television deptt. Punjabi University informed that Dr. Khushdeva Singh a life-long resident of Bhindian street, Purani Kotwali Chowk, Patiala was nationally acclaimed a legendary social worker, chest specialist who founded leprosy patients colony, purchasing land for their welfare as an independent venture.

Sabharwal added that Singh was founder President of NTAS, which has been living Singh’s ideals and has been raising shows for leprosy patients colony’s welfare. He added that Raj Mata Late Mahinder Kaur and family had always been great admirer of Dr. Singh, where  Maharani Preneet Kaur, former Union Minister of External Affairs considered Dr. Khushdeva as her mentor and spiritual Guru in her Public life.

NTAS president G.S. Kakkar duo Pran  Sabharwal–Sunita Sabharwal, members and Singh’s admires strongly pleaded that Capt. Amrinder Singh CM Punjab, Maharani Preneet Kaur kindly ensure installation of Khusdeva Singh’s Bust at Purani Kotwali Chowk and renaming chowk in his name as a real tribute to the great son of India.
