Dr KK Aggarwal reemployed by Punjab government

Forensic expert Dr KK Aggarwal who retired as Principal Government Medical College Patiala on September 30, is reemployed by Punjab Government and appointed as Prof and Head Forensic Medicine, Govt Medical College, Patiala.
As per the orders issued by DK Tiwari Principal Secretary medical education and research Punjab , Dr KK Aggarwal is reemployed in keeping the future of medical students secure, for better treatment to the patients.
Dr Aggarwal thanked the Punjab Government for reemploying him and he ensure that he will do his best for students, patients.
Dr KK Aggarwal had done his MBBS in 1981 and MD in 1984 from the same college. He has worked at Medical Colleges Faridkot and Amritsar also. He served at Faridkot Medical College for about 20 years and conducted about 15000 postmortem and medicolegal cases and has appeared in various courts all over the state for opinion. He has been working at Patiala since 2005. He was instrumental in getting the MD degree at Amritsar medical college recognized from Medical Council of India when he was head of department there. He has guided 22 MD students and has 48 publications in national and international journals.
During his short tenure as Principal Govt Medical College, Patiala he was instrumental in starting the 24×7 Clinical Laboratory which gave round the clock services to the patient and lead to a massive jump in the earnings of the hospital. Round the clock Jan Aushadhi Store (Cheap Generic Medicine) to provide poor patients with generic medicines at cheaper rates. The VDRL Lab was adjudged the best lab in Punjab state and has been approved to be upgraded as State level lab shortly.
For the benefit of students in the hostels two new messes and one canteen were initiated along with provision of water filters, water coolers, new furniture, CCTV camera and upgraded common rooms. In line with the government vision of online services, the student’s fees have also been started online in collaboration with SBI. Further the service books of all staff are now available online in HRMS system. At his instance the court evidence of doctors through video conferencing to various courts of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal is available only at Patiala which is saving a lot of time and money.
