Effect of IAS officer resignation? 1 IPS, 3 PPS amongst 5 police officers get posting orders; others waiting

Punjab government has issued posting orders of 5 Punjab police officials including 1 IPS and 4 PPS officers.
Out of these 5, 1 IPS and 3 PPS officers got posting orders as they are without any postings since their last transfer and are available for postings.
As per available information, still many IPS-PPS officers are without any charge. This include ADGP rank IPS officer Naunihal Singh, Rajpal Singh, IPS, Surinder Pal, PPS, Amroz Singh, PPS.
Recently, in a first of its kind incident a Punjab cadre 2015-batch IAS officer, Karnail Singh has resigned from the post as he is without posting since January 30,2024. As per available information he had taken this extreme step as he was not given any new posting following his removal as the deputy commissioner of Kapurthala on January 30, this year. Sources close to Singh said that he was “upset” at not being allotted work.
