Punjab NRI Affairs Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal on Friday announced that infrastructure in all NRI police stations would be improved so as to facilitate the Punjabi Diaspora besides directing the officers to resolve the complaints pertaining to the NRIs by taking effective action.

While addressing a State Level Training Program organized by the NRI Wing of Punjab Police at Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Police Academy here, Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal also announced a fund to the tune of Rs. 30 lakh for boosting the existing infrastructure in all 15 NRI police stations with Rs two lakh to each police station. He asserted that the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led Government was fully committed to give requisite heed to the issues of NRIs with their amicable redressal.

Stating that directions for prompt resolution of NRIs complaints have already been given to all officials concerned, the Minister said that effective action should also be initiated in such cases to ensure justice as per law. He said that dedicated nodal officers were also being deputed by the State Government in districts to track and resolve the complaints & cases of Punjabi Diaspora especially property & matrimonial disputes. He said that the NRIs could call on these officers for their issues related with civil administration or police department.

Lauding the efforts of Punjabi Diaspora in the development works across the State, Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said that their contribution could not be overlooked as they were always at frontline for the social, education, sports and developmental works in their respective areas. He also interacted with the police officers & officials after the training program and assured that all requisite measures would be taken in the time to come to facilitate NRIs.

Earlier, in his address ADGP NRI Affairs Praveen Kumar Sinha directed the officers to ensure prompt action on the complaints of NRIs besides further making investigation in these cases more efficacious. He said that nearly 250 officers and officials of NRI Wing participated in the training program. Prominent amongst those present during program included AIG Hqrs Mohali Rajjit Singh, AIG Jalandhar Balbir Singh, AIG Amritsar Jagjit Singh, AIG Patiala Balwinder Singh, AIG Ludhiana Amritpal Singh and others.
