PSEB Engineers Association has decided to wear black badges on September,25,2020 in solidarity with the farmers of the State, against the adamant attitude of Central Government for not listening to the voice of farmers and against the anti power sector Electricity Amendment Bill 2020.In a communiqué by the General Secretary of PSEB Engineers Association “all members of the association are requested to Support the cause of farmers and wear black badges on 25/9/2020.”

Davinder Singh, General Secretary of JE Council informed that “it has been decided to wear black badges to express solidarity with the agitation of various Farmers Associations/ Unions on 25.9.20. Keeping in view the adamant attitude of Central Govt. to go ahead with anti Farmers Bills& Electricity Amendment Bill 2020.
Under the Agriculture Produce Marketing Committee (APMC) Act passed in 1964, it was compulsory for farmers to sell their produce at government-regulated markets, or mandis, where middlemen helped growers sell harvests to either the state-run company or private players.The government says the monopoly of APMC mandis will end.
