GNDU students display the talent of Photography

A photography exhibition-cum-competition for the students of the Guru Nanak Dev University Campus has been inaugurated in THE GALLERY located at the ground floor of Bhai Gurdas Library of the University. This exhibition is being organized by the students’ Photography Club of the University and last till September 23, 2018. The objective of this event is to encourage the art of photography of the students and showcase their talent and emotions for natural, built and social environs.

Prof. (Dr.) Shaweta Shenoy, the First Lady of the University inaugurated the exhibition and appreciated the talent of the students. She encouraged the students to take part in such activities in the Campus life. Members of the club thanked Prof. (Dr.) Anish Dua, Director, Events and Hospitality, to facilitate the organization of the exhibition. Prof. Mandeep Kaur, Dr. P. S. Malhi, Dr. Jatinder Kaur and about 100 students from different departments were present on the occasion.

The students thanked the Vice-Chancellor for initiating such openings to showcase their talents in different spheres of life. The club invites each one to appreciate the efforts of the students, which will boost their moral in positive directions to further their talent of photography for a week-long exhibition.

Prof. Luthra said that with the initiative of Vice-Chancellor of Guru Nanak Dev University, eleven Students’ Clubs representing different areas of concern were established in 2017. He said that the efforts have travelled a long way and each Club is organizing one event or the other quite frequently to keep the students engaged in creative activities and remain away from the evils of life.

The student organizers said that about 175 photographs have been exhibited in Art & Architecture, Still Photography, Travel, Flora & Fauna, Social Relations, Portrait and Landscape categories. About 40 students from different departments of the University have taken part in the competition.
