Golden Jubilee Fitness Centre of GNDU inaugurated by Razia Sultana

Minister for Higher Education, Govt. of Punjab Razia Sultana inaugurated the Golden Jubilee Fitness Centre here today in the Student’s Centre of the Guru Nanak Dev University. This centre has been dedicated to the Golden Jubilee of Guru Nanak Dev University. A large number of students, faculty and employees were present.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Jaspal Singh Sandhu welcomed the chief guest and other guests. Prof. Kamaljeet Singh, Dean, Educational Affairs, Prof. Karanjit Singh Kahlon, Registrar, Prof. SS Behl, Dean, Student Welfare were also present.

Sultana appreciated the University about sincere efforts for the benefit of students and others. She congratulated Vice Chancellor Prof. Sandhu for his innovative approach.
Sandhu said that this World Class Fitness Centre is fully Air Conditioned with highly modern machines which have been established with an approximate cost of Rupees One Crore covering an area of 3000 sqft in the university campus.

He said that earlier, the campus students have to go outside the University Campus for their gym work out, which was expensive and far away from the university due to which students avoided gym activities. This Gym will be available for students, faculty, employees and outsiders at a nominal fee. The main objective was to encourage students to make them health-conscious, physically fit along with their studies.

The Cardio Zone, strength Zone and Free Exercise Zone etc have been created in this Gym along with Commercial Treadmill, skill mill, Cross trainer, Compact Cable cross, Leg press, Hip abduction, High extension, Doubles and other modern machines have been provided.
