Govt. Mohindra College students visited Kissan Mela

Govt. Mohindra College, Patiala organized a one day educational trip for B.Sc. Agriculture Ist year students to Kissan Mela held at PAU, Ludhiana on 22nd Sept. 2018 under able leadership of principal Prof. (Dr.) Sangeeta Handa. In this trip students were made aware about new agriculture techniques, machineries and improved varieties of various crops.
Head of department Dr. Ambika Beri opined that such educational trips play an important role in all round development of the students. Honorable principal Prof. (Dr.) Sangeeta Handa praised the efforts made by the teachers of agriculture department.
Students were accompanied to the trip by Prof. Divya Pandey, Prof. Shipra Singh Parmar, Prof. Charanjeet Singh and Dr. Saleem Wani.
One of the student said “Kisan Melas play a vital role in the dissemination of improved agricultural knowledge among farmers of Punjab. Live demonstrations, exhibitions, technical sessions, improved and quality seed, latest farm literature, farmer-scientist interactions helps us in increasing our practical knowledge”.
This year Punjab Agriculture Kissan Mela theme of the exhibition is ‘Save Mother Earth: Stop stubble Burning”
“Large number of farmers, students eagerly waiting for PAU Kissan Mela to enhance their knowledge” said another student .
