Hackathon organised at IET Bhaddal Technical Campus

The Department of Research & Entrepreneurship of IET Bhaddal Technical Campus organized an Internal Smart India Hackathon 2025 with the objective of enhancing the technical skills of students and promoting innovative thinking. This competition was specifically organized for the students of Computer Science Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Management and other departments of the campus.

During the Hackathon, students presented their innovative and creative projects on themes such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Web Development, Mobile App Development, Cloud Computing, Internet of Things (IoT), Cyber Security and Green Technology.

The Hackathon was inaugurated by Dr. S. S. Bindra, Registrar-cum-Director of the campus and he stated that such programs familiarize students with emerging technologies and guide their thinking in a new direction. He further added that Hackathons connect students with real industry needs and pave the way for their future careers.

On this occasion, Dr. Gurpreet Singh, Group Director – Academics, shared his views, saying that a Hackathon is not just a competition but also a golden opportunity for students to learn. He added that such events boost students’ confidence and refine their creativity.

Throughout the day-long Hackathon, various teams presented solutions to social, technical and economic issues through their projects. Some teams provided digital solutions for healthcare, while others showcased solutions related to smart cities, transportation and environmental concerns.

The jury panel thoroughly evaluated the ideas and presentations of the students. During the closing ceremony, Dr. Bindra awarded certificates and prizes to the winning teams and presented appreciation certificates to all participants. He also congratulated Dr. Taranjeet Kaur, Dean – Research, the event coordinator, for successfully organizing the Hackathon.

On this occasion, Dr. Preet Kanwal Kaur (Principal – Pharmacy), Dr. Kanchan Sharma (Principal – Vocational Studies), Vishal Arora, Onkar Singh, Bhag Singh, Karan Sharma and others were also present.
