Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains today, while dedicating bridges worth crores of rupees to the people of remote villages of Sri Anandpur Sahib constituency, strongly criticized the opposition and said that within the next one year, every promise of development made to the constituency will be fulfilled before he appears in the people’s court. He added that he will never claim that he provided exemplary services during the floods, as that was his duty. He said that “people sent your brother and son to the Vidhan Sabha with pride, and Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann entrusted me with important responsibilities,”. Bains emphasized that a new wave of development has now begun in the constituency of Sri Anandpur Sahib, blessed by Dashmesh Pita (SriGuru Gobind Singh Ji), and overall development of the region will be ensured.

He said that during his 14 years of hard work in the Aam Aadmi Party, new dimensions of development have been added both in Sri Anandpur Sahib and across Punjab. The dedicated service he rendered as a Cabinet Minister in all 117 constituencies has resulted in unprecedented gifts for the region in the form of bridges, roads, water supply, education, health, and sports infrastructure.

Harjot Singh Bains, Cabinet Minister for Information and Public Relations, Technical Education and Industrial Training, Higher Education and School Education, while laying the foundation stone stated that the new bridge across the Swan river near village Bhallari, to connect Bhallari to Mahindpur–Khera Kalmot, in the presence of eminent local people. He said that a 511-metre-long bridge will be built at a cost of ₹35.48 crore to connect Khera Kalmot, Bhangla, Majari and other border areas. A 333-metre-long bridge costing ₹20 crore from Kalitran to Palasi will be inaugurated on October 4. Another 180-metre-long bridge costing ₹12 crore from Bela Dhiani to Palasi will be inaugurated on October 7 on the occasion of Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti. With these three bridges, people will be able to reach main routes from interior areas within 15 minutes.

The Minister added that roads around these bridges, extending up to 11 km, are also being widened to 18 feet at a cost of several crores. He announced that government schools are being provided with transport, security guards, and campus managers. In the Changar area, a lift irrigation scheme costing ₹80 crore is progressing rapidly to provide water.

Bains said that Nangal has been granted block status and a new police station is being established at Naya Nangal. Drinking water for 20 villages, beautification of Kiratpur Sahib, canal water schemes, and a major drinking water project for Nangal city are also starting soon. He said the issue of the Nangal flyover has been resolved and work on the Kiratpur Sahib–Nangal National Highway road is about to begin. At Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Multi-Speciality Park, sports facilities for 8–10 games are being developed to benefit children from 20–25 villages.

He further announced that a ₹1,000 crore project has been prepared for channelization of the Swan river, which will also develop new tourism hubs. Additionally, 25 new sports grounds will be constructed.

Praising the youth, Bains said that during floods they carried out “Operation Rahat” and performed exemplary work, safeguarding canals, riverbanks, and religious structures.
