The Media Federation of India (MFI) and the Public Relations Council of India (PRCI) organised their annual “Entrepreneurs and Achievers Award 2023” ceremony on May 12,2023 evening to honour people who have made outstanding contributions in the field of social services, corporate medicine, civil services, education, sports, journalism and work and other sectors.

A total of 35 persons, who have excelled in their respective fields, were honoured by the Governor of Haryana Bandaru Dattatreya.

Governor of Haryana Bandaru Dattatreya felicitated Manmohan Singh, deputy secretary, Punjab state power corporation limited (PSPCL)’s public relation for “Excellence in Public Relations in Punjab”.

Along with Manmohan Singh other 34 renowned personalities like Ramesh Vinayak, executive editor Hindustan Times, Naresh Kaushal, editor Dainik Tribune, Varinder Singh Walia, editor Punjabi Jagran, Lt Gen KJ Singh (AVSM & Bar), former Army Commander, Western Command etc were also awarded.

About Manmohan Singh

Manmohan Singh is a son of a popular Journalist and Educationist from Patiala Late Sardar Sohan Singh Tir-Kuman. He has joined Punjab State Power Corporation Limited erstwhile Punjab State Electricity Board as Exhibition Officer on January 4,1991.

During his more than 32 years service he served on various assignments he remained IPRO Head Quarters, Under Secretary for more than 7 years, is performing a principle role for overall publicity of Punjab state power corporation limited (PSPCL) and Punjab state transmission corporation limited (PSTCL) which is the life line of PUNJAB. He had also performed vital role in the re-development of PSPCL erstwhile PSEB website and he was a key instrument in the implementation of the Right to Information Act, at the time of implementation of the Right to Information Act was single handled by him later it is being looked after by a Deputy Secretary level officer with personnel establishment.*

He has rich experience in Public Relations field, he is the Nodal Officer for International Trade Fair at New Delhi. He is representing PSPCL in Punjab Pavilion for the last more than 30 years. He is also nodal officer of PSPCL with Directorate of Information and Public Relations Punjab Government. He is playing a major role for the all kinds of publicity of PSPCL in Punjab. He has vast experience to handle VVIPs, he was Liaison Officer to Zila Nizam, Lahore during Indo-Pak games in 2005 held at Patiala. Tejvir Singh IAS then Deputy Commissioner Patiala has awarded him a appreciation letter. He has independently looked after a foreign delegation from Germany in 2005. His two books on power development in Punjab and Energy Conservation are under printing.*

He has the rich experience in Photography and social media .He is looking after Social Media platforms of FACEBOOK, TWITTER handles of PSPCL.

He is also a writer as he pen downed a book on the health services of UK. During his visit to UK in 1999 he fell ill their and under went for a surgery for appendices, he wrote a book on the National Health Services of United Kingdom which was released by Sir Rob Young KCMC High Commissioner of UK in India

He is also a social worker and is associated with few social organisations . He is a member of Public Relations Society of India,Life member Indian Red Cross Society. He himself helps needy students and poor elderly people of the society.

He is regularly contributing articles in different newspapers about the Power sector of Punjab. Now a days he is contributing weekly column based on research in JAGBANI,PUNJAB KESARI,HIND Samachar And Navodaya Times on every Thursday about the history and expansion of Power sector of Punjab.
