The Heritage walk was organised at village Ghuram 35 kms on the Patiala Kurukshetra Road by the Patiala Foundation.The Chief Functionary Ravee S Ahluwalia steered the Walkers on the Heritage route starting from the Sri Milaapsar Gurdwara Sahib. The Gurudwara is also known as Sri Bauli Sahib as it has an ancient bauli or a well believed to have been built by King Kohram father of Mata Kaushalya ji and grandfather of Lord Rama for the stay of the wedding party of King Dashrath.

The Gurudwara was also visited by the tenth Sikh Guru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji when he came to visit the Sufi saint Peer Bheekham Shah ji at Ghuram. The Saint received the Guru at this historical Baoli  in the early 18th Century.

The Dargah of the saint is also located in the village and is presently managed by Baba Mast Deewana Bulleh Shah ji and Bibi Mast Deewani Bholu Shah ji, presently the Dargah draws people from far and wide and the seer is deeply referred by people of all faiths till date. The historical Fort of Ghuram which was immensely important from the 12th Century till the Early 18th Century.

Ghuram was an important place with the Rajput Kings and there are references of this place in almost all dynasties .According to the historians during the last two decades of the Twelfth Century this place was the first capital of Muslim rule in India. Its eminence was dwindled during the Mughals and the Sur Afghans in the 14th Century after the construction of the new road passing through Panipat,Karnal,Ambala,Sirhind and Ludhiana.

Later Maharaja Karam Singh ji built a fort and named it Ramgarh evidently in the name of Lord Rama.The Fort presently just a mound of rubble and has almost completely vanished overtime due to neglect and plunder. Ahluwalia stressed on the importance of recognising our heritage sites which have been completely forgotten by the successive generations over a period of time.

The Walk was largely attended by residents, students, enthusiasts from Patiala and surrounding areas who all travelled to Ghuram with much enthusiasm.

The Chief Guest Suresh Kumar (Retired IAS) Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Punjab congratulated Patiala Foundation for the third successful event and said the only way to awaken to our heritage was to make more and more people aware of its history . AS Rai IPS IG Range Patiala said such heritage walks help recognise the heritage and should be undertaken more often,Anindita Mitra IAS Director Public Relations Punjab and heritage enthusiast herself said she is gratified by the experience and always enjoyed being a part of it. Kumar Amit IAS Deputy Commissioner Patiala Mandeep Singh Sidhu (PPS) SSP Patiala,Alka Meena IPS . Aruna Sharma a participant said she was surprised at the rich history of the place which has fallen into complete Oblivion over time.
