IMA and PCMS Association condemn assault on doctor at Nangal

In a joint statement Dr.Ajay Jindal, President Indian Medical Association (IMA )Rupnagar, Secretary Dr.BPS Parmar and PCMS Rupnagar president Dr.Rajiv Aggarwal have condemned the unfortunate incident occurred on Wednesday night at Sub division hospital Nangal .
They said that the on-duty medical officer Dr. Aman Kalia(Ophthalmologist) sustained eye injury when some persons in inebriated condition started creating ruckus in Emergency Room and assaulted him.
Dr.Kalia has been shifted to PGI Chandigarh, where he is being treated for serious eye injuries.
Appreciating the Prompt action taken by Health Minister Dr.Balbir Singh, Rupnagar SSP Vivek Soni and Civil Surgeon Rupnagar,in getting FIR registered under Punjab protection of medicare service persons and medicare service institutions Act, 2008 and immediately arresting the culprits, they appealed to public not to take law into their hands and start damaging property and assaulting doctors on duty.
