IMA sore over the blatant misuse of power by AAP leaders -Dr.Maan

Terming the recent chaos being created by some of the newly elected legislators as well as AAP volunteers by conducting ‘raids’ at the state run healthcare institutions as blatant misuse of power, the Indian Medical association (IMA), Punjab has strongly condemned the undemocratic and derogatory language used against the medical fraternity.
“The medical fraternity, be it doctors or para medical and supporting staff deputed at the government hospitals and dispensaries have been striving hard to discharge their duty within limited human as well as infrastructural resources” rued state IMA president, Dr.Paramjit Maan while adding that in spite of working under odd circumstances due to acute lack of facilities, the government medico fraternity had done a remarkable job to thwart the unprecedented pandemic COVID-19 .
” If the people of the state have given mandate for the overhauling of the whole system including the healthcare facilities, the AAP legislators should not act impatiently and illogically to bring in the desired change by hooliganism”, further said Dr.Maan while urging the CM, Bhagwant Maan to immediately intervene to shed the chaos.
Besides reining in his legislators and volunteers, the CM should immediately call a meeting of all the stake holders – higher authorities, civil surgeons, SMOs, IMA and other associated unions to chalk out a comprehensive strategy for bringing in improvement in the healthcare facilities in the state in true spirit, said Dr. Maan.
