IMPORTANT ALERT: Haryana sealed Jalandhar-Panipat national highway at Shambhu border; traffic diverted to other routes

As per communication from the Superintendent of police (SP) Ambala, Haryana has closed the Shambhu border to vehicular traffic coming or going from Shambu to Ambala from 10Feb 10 AM onwards. The traffic on Panipat –Jalandhar national highway passing through Ambala has been diverted through following routes-
Shambu/ Rajpura- Banur- Airport road- Derabassi- Ambala- Delhi or Shambu/ Rajpura- Banur- Zirakpur- Panchkula- Nada Sahib- Barwala- Shehzadpur- Saha- Shahbad- Delhi, or Rajpura- Patiala- Pehowa- Kurukshetra- Delhi, or Rajpura- Patiala- Pehowa- 152D Expressway- Rohtak- Delhi.
The district administration has taken this step regarding the farmers’ movement to be held on 13 February. The Ambala administration has appealed to the common people to avoid going to Punjab via Shambhu border so that they do not have to face any kind of traffic related problem. It also said that in view of the situation, other highways adjoining Punjab may be closed in the coming days.
