60th, 61st  All Breed Championship Dog Show organized during the ongoing Patiala Heritage festival 2024 , in association with Patiala Kennel Club held on  Sunday the  11th February, 2024 at Raja Bhalendra Singh Stadium (Polo Grounds) Patiala, leave a mark on the minds of Patialvies.

Atsuko Ishihiro from Japan and Chen-Long Ho from Taiwan judged All breed championship  dog show.

Total 210 Dogs in 41 breed participated in these shows. The Exhibitors from far of places like Jammu , UP, Delhi, Haryana,  HP, Maharashtra, MP, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand,   and other parts of the country  participated in these shows.

A large number  of  German Shepherd Dog (36), Golden Retriever (20), Beagle (18) Labrador , Rottweiler among toy dogs  participated in these  shows.

Indian breed dogs Raja Pallam, Himalayan Sheep Dog attracted everyone’s eye.

King Charles Spaniel among Belgian shepherd Dog, Douge DeBordeaux, Cane Corso,  Shih Tzu,  Samoyed, Siberian Husky, Akita, Poodle, Great Dane were the main attraction of the show.

“These shows provided an opportunity to watch exotic breeds of dogs.  The spectators were amazed to see some exotic & rare breeds. Kids were enjoyed by watching the smallest and the largest breeds of canine world. People from all walks of life thronged the Show in large number’ said GP Singh Brar, general secretary of Patiala Kennel Club.

Patiala Kennel Club has been evdeavoring to keep alive the old tradition of the princely city of Patiala for its love for dogs. It was in this part of the country the first The Northern India Kennel Association was formed in 1926, which was later changed into the Kennel club of India. His Highness Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala and Maharaja of Jind were the only Indian Vice Presidents while Lord Irwin had been its Presidents. In the inaugural ‘Patiala Championship Dog Show 1927’ His Highness  Maharaja Bhupinder Singh  of Patiala had showed his number of dogs of different breeds.
