Industrial Visit: to get exposure, Punjabi University Physics department students visited Ambala

Department of Physics, Punjabi University, Patiala keeps no stone unturned to enhance scientific skills of undergraduate physics students enrolled in integrated UG-PG degree programme as per National Education Policy-2020.

National Education Policy-2020 promotes hands on training and real world experience for the students through academia and industry interaction. Industrial tour of newly admitted students in UG-PG physics degree programme was organized by Department of Physics.

Around 50 students visited different industries in Ambala to get exposure aboutdesign, fabrication, calibration and packaging of electronic circuits, condensed matter physics & optics experimental kits, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, civil engineering and agricultural equipments.

They have shown keen interest in electronic circuit design &soldering of components on circuits, plastic moulding, paint processes, lathe machines, moisture sensors, functional automobile component modules, assembly of experimental kits and quality assurance protocols.

Dr. Anup Thakur, Head, Department of Physics told, “This industrial tour has ignited scientific temperament in students, which will be very beneficial to align them towards skill development.

Newly designed curriculum, which has been implemented from this academic session, emphasizes on skill development to make students  self-reliant as well as potential candidates for local and global job markets.

Students are given hands on experience during regular workshop classes”. Dr. Karamjit Singh Dhaliwal, Dr. Raminder Kaur, Dr. Jaspal Singh, Dr. Jaskaran Singh and other teachers played pivotal roles to make this trip successful.
