Khalsa College celebrated the festival of Teej with enthusiasm
Patiala-Khalsa College Patiala celebrated the festival of Teej with enthusiasm and excitement. Female staff members and girl students of the college participated during this occasion. The main motive behind celebrating this festival was to make everyone aware about the punjabi customs and traditions and to develop liking for them. Different competitions related to the festival like giddha and folk songs were organised by different departments of the college. The traditional food was also served on this occasion.
Harsangeet Kaur bagged the award of Miss Teej. In the different competitions the Department of Arts won the first prize, Department of Commerce and Management won second prize and Department of Mathematics secured third prize.
Swaranjeet Kaur Ubha was present as a special guest and she addressed everyone, saying that the festival highlights the importance of women in society. College Principal Dr Dharminder Singh Ubha congratulated everyone on this festival. He said in his speech that women are progressing in every field and are leading the world. They have the power to unite the family and keep the traditions alive. Dr Harvinder Kaur Dean, Cultural Activities and Professor Sandeep Kaur Chahal, Dean Creative Arts coordinated the function successfully.
