Kisan leaders suspends ‘Rail Roko’ agitation at Shambhu border

Kisan leaders has decided to suspend the ‘Rail Roko’ agitation from today i.e May 20,2024 but will continue to protest on roads at Shambhu border

As per Kisan leaders, they will again meet on May 22,2024 to chalk out their next course of action and on May 23,2024 they will protest at Modi’s election rally at Patiala and other parts of the state.

As per available information, the farmers are going to lift their dharna from the railway track at Shambhu .

When contacted the DRM Railway Ambala zone, the official on the condition of anonymity said ” no official intimation, communication from the kisan leaders, unions has been received by the railways, till now. The are still on the track and it will take hours to clear the track. After receiving the official intimation, the railway will look into the next possible angle about the resumption of rail services on this track.”

The train service remained disrupted on Delhi-Amritsar section as farmers continued their ‘rail roko’ protest at the railway station near Shambhu Border since almost a month’s time.

They are demanding the release of three fellow protesters —Navdeep Singh, Anish Khatkar and Gurkirat Singh — who were arrested in March by Haryana Police.
