Mann becomes first CM to visit Amritsar with a Governor; both paid obeisance at Sri Harmandir Sahib and Sri Durgiana Mandir

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and newly appointed Governor of the state Gulab Chand Kataria today paid obeisance at Sri Harmandir Sahib and Sri Durgiana Mandir to pray for progress of the state and prosperity of its people.

Mann becomes the first CM of the state who along with Governor of the state  paid obeisance at Sri Harmandir Sahib and Sri Durgiana Mandir. Till date no CM along with any Governor of Punjab exclusively visited at these holy shrines of Sikhs and Hindus to pay obeisance . Many a times, CM and Governor paid obeisance at Sri Harmandir Sahib and Sri Durgiana Mandir whenever a President of India, Prime Minister of India or any other high profile dignitary visited at these shrines to pay obeisance. They just visited as per the protocol.

The Governor and Chief Minister offered prayer at both these sacred places and prayed that Punjab should continue to be front runner state in every field. They sought the blessings of Almighty to render their respective duties well for the welfare of the people of the state and prayed that ethos of communal harmony, brotherhood and amity should be further cemented in state and Punjab should emerge as an epitome of peace, progress and prosperity. Both the leaders also paid homage to the great martyrs at Jallianwala Bagh memorial and said that this place will always inspire the younger generations for selfless service of nation.

Interacting with the media persons, the Punjab Governor said that he is blessed to have got an opportunity to bow down his head on this pious land. He said that the life and philosophy of great Sikh Gurus has since ages inspired the humanity for selfless service. Gulab Chand Kataria said that he too had prayed before Almighty to give him strength for discharging his duty well for development of Punjab and Chandigarh.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister welcomed the new Governor to the state and expressed hope that state will be immensely benefitted from his rich administrative experience. He envisioned that both of them will work within their own jurisdictions and ensure that Punjab scripts a new success story in every field. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that together they will ensure that Punjab witnesses overall growth and progress in every field.
