Mata Gujri College holds 55th Annual Athletic Meet successfully; Aditya, Rupinder declared best athletes

The 55th Annual Athletic Meet of Mata Gujri College, Fatehgarh Sahib concluded with great enthusiasm under the leadership of Jagdeep Singh Cheema, Honorary Secretary of the College Governing Body. Students from various departments of the college participated enthusiastically in various sports events.
On this occasion, Junior Vice President of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Sri Amritsar Sahib and member of College Governing Body, Avtar Singh Ria graced the occasion as the chief guest. Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar, Former President SGPC, College alumni Rustam-e-Hind Parminder Doomchedi, District Sports Officer Dr. Rahuldeep Singh Dhillon also attended the event as special guests.
Honorary Secretary of the College Governing Body, Jagdeep Singh Cheema stated that Mata Gujri College is a premier educational institution of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, which is constantly making valuable contributions in the field of religion, education and sports.
Junior Vice President of Shiromani Committee, Avtar Singh Ria congratulated and wished all the college staff and students for conducting a wonderful sports competition and encouraged them to go further and hoped that the youth of Punjab would eradicate leprosy like drugs from the state of Punjab through sports and become healthy. Head Granthi Singh Sahib of Gurudwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, Giani Harpal Singh encouraged the students to participate more in sports as well as studies in their student life.
Addressing the players on this occasion, Director Principal Dr. Kashmir Singh talking about the academic, sports and cultural activities of the college, stated that Mata Gujri College is committed to the all-round development of the students while fulfilling the educational needs of the present time and the region. He said that Mata Gujri College, located on the holy land of Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, is a great educational institution which has received NAAC A grade three times consecutively, Autonomous status, recognition from Punjab State Council for Agricultural Education, Star Status from the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.
Vice Principal Dr. Bikramjit Singh gave a special vote of thanks to all guests. Dean Sports Dr. Davinder Singh and Prof. Harjeet Kaur highlighted the sports achievements of the college and the future plans for further promoting sports in the college.
In the event Principal of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Engineering College, Lakhbir Singh, Jathedar Swaran Singh Gopalon, Advocate Amardeep Singh Dharni, Manager Bhagwant Singh, Balwinder Singh Bhamarsi, Jay Singh Bara, Harinder Singh Kuki, Prof. Jasbir Singh, Narendrajit Singh, Dr. Harveen Kaur, Dr. Harjit Singh, Dr. Jagjeevan Singh, Dr. Mukesh Kumar, Dr. Jagpal Singh, Dr. Gurbaj Singh, Dr. Kuldeep Kaur, Prof. Birinder Singh Sarao, Sports Coach Bahadur Singh, coach Joginderpal etc. were present.
Mata Gujri College holds 55th Annual Athletic Meet successfully; Aditya, Rupinder declared best athletes. In these sports events, the best athlete among boys, Aditya Sood of BCA Part I received first position and runner up honor was given to Garry Singh of B.A Part I. Similarly, the honor of the best athlete among girls was won by Rupinder Kaur of B.A. Part III and the runner up title went to Harmanjot Kaur of BCA, Part I. Baba Ajit Singh House got the first place and Baba Fateh Singh got the second place.
