MBS Punjab Sports University NSS volunteer’s hosts Swachh Bharat Diwas Campaign

In alignment with the national initiative of “Swachhta Hi Seva,” the NSS Volunteer’s of the MBS Punjab Sports University organized a series of impactful activities aimed at promoting cleanliness and environmental awareness on 1st Oct 2024.

The event commenced with a collective Swachhta Pledge, taken by NSS Volunteers , university staff, and students. This pledge served as a commitment to uphold cleanliness in their surroundings and foster a culture of hygiene and responsibility within the campus community.

Following the pledge, an insightful lecture on Environmental Sustainability was conducted. Expert speaker Dr. Sukhvir Kaur shared critical information about sustainable practices, the significance of protecting our environment, and practical tips for adopting eco-friendly habits in daily life. The engaging session encouraged participants to become proactive guardians of our planet.

A standout feature of the day’s events was the Waste to Art Exhibition, where students showcased their creativity by transforming waste materials into beautiful artworks. This innovative exhibition not only highlighted the importance of recycling but also inspired attendees to view waste from a different perspective, emphasizing that art can arise from even the most unexpected sources.

The culmination of the day’s activities was marked by a spirited Cleanliness Drive throughout the campus. NSS volunteers , along with university students and faculty, actively participated in cleaning various areas and raising awareness about the importance of maintaining a neat and healthy environment. This collective effort reinforced the values of teamwork and civic responsibility. The entire event was organised under the valuable guidance of University Registrar,Dr.Anubhav Walia by NSS Program Coordinator Dr. Sunman Kaur and Program Officer Dr. Harjot Kaur.

Through these activities, the NSS Unit of MBS Punjab Sports University demonstrated a strong commitment to cleanliness and environmental stewardship. The events not only engaged the university community but also aimed to inspire a lifestyle marked by sustainability and social responsibility.
