Medicinal Plant Plantation Drive Organized at Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Bhaddal

The Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, IET Bhaddal Technical Campus, organized a unique medicinal plant plantation drive in the Institute herbal garden. The objective of the event was to educate students about the importance of local medicinal plants and to encourage the preservation of these valuable resources.

During the campaign, medicinal plants such as Neem, Tulsi, Ashwagandha, Giloy, Aloe Vera, and lemon grass were planted. On this occasion, the Principal of the Pharmacy College, Dr. Preet Kanwal Kaur, in her inspiring address, shared valuable insights on the medicinal potential, traditional significance and contribution of various medicinal plants to healthcare. She stated that the aim of this initiative is to create a herbal garden within the campus, which will serve as a living laboratory for hands-on learning and research on traditional medicines. She further added that through this drive, students gained practical knowledge about plant identification, cultivation and their uses.

Registrar-cum-Director of the campus, Dr. S.S. Bindra, appreciated this unique initiative of the Pharmacy College and encouraged students to take steps to conserve the earth’s natural resources so that future generations can benefit from them. He advised students to plant at least one tree each year, emphasizing that a good and peaceful environment fosters the development of a strong personality.
