Mohinder Singh Ahli takes over as SGPC Secretary Dharam Parchar

Secretary of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Mohinder Singh Ahli has taken over as secretary of the Dharam Prachara Committee. The Chairman of the Shiromani Committee, Gobind Singh Longowal, has given him this additional assignment of the Dharma Prachara Committee, in addition to his other duties.

Earlier, Balwinder Singh Jorasingha was serving as secretary of the Religious Publicity Committee, who retired on September 30.

On the occasion of his taking charge as the Secretary of the Religious Publicity Committee (Dharam Parchar Committee) , Mahendra Singh Ahli thanks the Shiromani Committee President Gobind Singh Longowal for expressing their trust in him.

He said that he would fulfill all the new responsibilities he had been given. On this occasion, the SGPC staff including Khushwinder Singh Bhatia, Member of the Religious Publicity Committee , Sukhwarsh Singh Pannu, Secretary Manjit Singh Bath, Additional Secretary Partap Singh, Paramjit Singh Saroya, Deputy Secretary Kulwinder Singh Ramdas,Sakatar Singh, Balwinder Singh Kahlowan, Gurmeet Singh Buter,  Satinder Singh, Nishan Singh, Harjinder Singh Caronwal, Incharge Gurinderpal Singh Tur, Manjit Singh, Nirvel Singh, Balwinder Singh, Superintendent Gurpreet Singh was present.

The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) passed Rs 1,205 crore budget for 2019-20 at its executive meeting in March this year. The budget is nearly Rs 46 crore more than the last year’s. The dharam parchar committee saw a surge in the allocation to Rs 84 crore from Rs 56 crore.

Dharam Parchar committee job is to spread Sikhism message in masses through dhadi jathas, kavishar’s. It controls various missionary colleges, dharmik vidayalayas in Punjab. It has more than 250 dharam parcharaks.
