Manav Vikas Sansthan (MVS), a not-for-profit research and development organization established in 1996, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Punjab Agricultural University to strengthen collaboration in climate-resilient and sustainable agriculture.

The partnership brings together MVS’s field expertise in water security, climate resilience, and food systems with PAU’s strong agricultural research and extension capabilities. The MoU aims to address key challenges in Punjab, including groundwater depletion, rising input costs, and climate stress, by promoting practical and scalable farming solutions. The MoU signing was attended by senior representatives from both institutions, including Dr. MS Bhullar, Dr. GPS Sodhi, and Dr. Khushdeep Dharni from PAU, along with Rasam Singh, Dhananjay Kumar.

Under this collaboration, farmers will benefit from training programs, advisory support, exposure visits, and field demonstrations led by PAU experts. The initiative will focus on water-efficient cropping systems, precision nutrient management, integrated pest management, and crop diversification.

Over 200,000 farmers across 3,000+ villages in MVS’s network are expected to benefit through improved access to research-based advisories and climate-smart agricultural practices. The partnership will also promote agroforestry, regenerative agriculture, and the development of lead farmers as local change-makers.
