MRS-PTU celebrated National Science Day – 2023…

Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRS-PTU) Bathinda’s Department of Physics celebrated National Science Day – 2023 on the theme ‘Global Science for Global Wellbeing’ at the campus.
The event was catalysed and Supported by ‘Punjab State Council for Science & Technology (PSCST)’, ‘National Council for Science & Technology Communication (NCTSC)’, ‘Department of Science & Technology (DST)’, GoI.
The Students, Faculty & Staff celebrated the event with great zeal and enthusiasm. National Science Day (NSD) is celebrated every year to commemorate discovery of the ‘Raman Effect’, which led to Sir C.V. Raman winning the Noble Prize in 1930.
Under-graduate & Post-graduate students of various departments of the University participated in different events like Poster Making, Best out of Waste, Rangoli etc. The Mementos to the winners and certificates to the participants were also given.
In the ‘Best out of Waste’ Event Tarunpreet Singh (B.Tech ECE – 8th Semester) and Saleem Khan B.Tech. EE – 8th Sem.) secured 1st Position. While 2nd Position was secured by Gurleen Singh & Pratiksha of B.Sc. (Hons.) Physics – 4th Sem. and 3rd Position was bagged by Himanshi of M.Sc. Physics – 4th Sem.
In Rangoli Competition, Arundeep Kaur & Simrandeep Kaur (B.Sc. Hons. Physics – 4th Sem.) stood 1st and Manpinder Kaur & Jashanpreet Kaur jointly (B.Sc. Hons. Physics – 2nd Sem.) secured 2nd position.
In Poster making Bhinder Singh, BFA, 2nd Sem & Sneha Diman, Pharmacy 4th Sem. Secured 1st Position, While Shivam Bhadauria (Pharmacy 6th Sem), Gurpreet Singh (BFA 2nd Sem.) secured 2nd position & Diya Puri BSc. (Hons.) Chemistry – 4th Sem.) secured the 3rd position.
While acknowledging the ground breaking work of C.V. Raman in the field of light scattering, Head of the Department Prof. Sandeep Kansal elaborated the importance of Global Science for the wellbeing and motivated the students to develop and adopt a scientific thinking in day to day life and to come up with innovative and creative ideas for sustainable development.
MRS-PTU celebrated National Science Day – 2023… Program Co-ordinator Dr. Gagan Gupta and entire Organizing Team of the department worked hard to make this event a grand success.
