Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda, has commenced the observance of Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 from October 27 to November 2, in line with the directives of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), Government of India.
This year’s theme, “Vigilance – Our Shared Responsibility,” highlights the collective role of citizens and institutions in promoting integrity, transparency, and ethical governance. The week-long observance seeks to foster the values of honesty, accountability, and good governance among the university’s faculty, staff, and students.
Organized under the guidance of Vice Chancellor Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, the programme features a series of interactive sessions and awareness activities aimed at encouraging proactive participation from all academic and administrative departments.
The observance began on Monday, October 27, with a Vigilance Pledge Ceremony, where Vice Chancellor Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Sharma administered the oath to faculty members, officers, staff, and students. The pledge reaffirmed their collective commitment to uphold transparency, fairness, and integrity, and to contribute toward a corruption-free environment in all spheres of public life.
Co-ordinator of the event Dr. Ashish Baldi, Director, Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), informed that similar pledge ceremonies will be organized throughout the week across MRSPTU’s constituent campuses — including Giani Zail Singh Campus College of Engineering and Technology (GZSCCET), Punjab State Aeronautical Engineering College, Patiala, and Punjab Institutes of Technology at Moga and Rajpura.
In addition, various inter-school competitions and thematic activities are being conducted by the University Business School, School of Architecture, and School of Agricultural Sciences and Engineering, offering students opportunities to discuss and reflect upon issues of vigilance, integrity, and ethical responsibility.
To ensure wider participation, an online vigilance pledge will also be undertaken by all regular staff and students across departments, extending the spirit of the campaign throughout the MRSPTU community.
