MRSPTU in collaboration with PSDM organising two-week ToT

Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU) Bathinda is organizing two weeks Training for Trainers (ToT) programme under SANKALP Scheme, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE) in collaboration with Punjab Skill Mission Development (PSDM), Chandigarh.

As many as  147 candidates have registered for participation in this programme so far. The programme will conclude on August 23.

Bathinda, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development), Paramvir Singh IAS was the chief guest and Rajesh Kumar, Manager, PSDM was the guest of honour for this occasion.

Paramvir Singh highlighted the importance of Training of Trainer model which is intended to engage master trainer in coaching new trainer, who are less experienced in topics or skill or training overall. He said that ToT programme will build a pool of competent instructors who can then train to the other people.

Paramvir Singh said, “The objective of the training programme is to change management with a focus on the instructor’s training capacity and skills. Govt of Punjab also tends to have a pool of skilled work force, which will ultimately benefit the growth of the industries and employability as well.

MRSPTU Bathinda being a technical university in this Malwa region has to play a role in this skill mission. In order to execute the mission skill, work order has been issued to MRSPTU; Bathinda by Punjab Skill Mission Development (PSDM) for conducting Training of Trainers programme for candidates of PSDM certified centres to enhance efficiencies in Trainees under SANKALP Scheme, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE).”

The University  Vice Chancellor Prof. Buta Singh Sidhu thanked PSDM and ADC (D) for providing the required support for conducting this Training Program. He said Training of Trainer (ToT) focuses predominantly on the ‘sharing of ideas and experiences. The objective of the training programme is to change management with a focus on the instructor’s training capacity and skills.

University Registrar, Dr. Gurinder Pal Singh Brar  welcomed chief guest, resource persons, participants and highlighted the basic objectives of ToT is to prepare instructors to present information effectively.

Dr.  Brar also  briefed about the University and Congratulated the whole team for conducting the training program.

ToT  coodinators Dr. Balwinder Singh, Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering presented vote of thanks. Dr. Anupam  Kumar also spoke on the occasion.

Er. Yadwinder Pal Sharma team worked hard for the success of programme. All Deans, Directors and HOD’s of various departments were also present.
