MRSPTU “Science and Tech. 2nd Expo” got huge response-Aero Show, live Models remain attractions…

Thousands of students from various schools/colleges and affiliated Institutions visited “Science and Tech. 2nd Expo” organized by Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda at main campus here on Friday. Aero Show and Model Exhibitions remain the main attraction among the curious students.

The aim of Science and Tech. Expo was developing scientific temper among students, underlining the importance of science and to strengthen its utilization.

Vikas Garg IAS, Principal Secretary, Technical Education and Industrial Training, Punjab inaugurated the programme aimed to admire budding scientists and make students aware of the latest technology. While MRSPTU Vice Chancellor, Prof. Buta Singh Sidhu presided over the ceremony.

Model Exhibitions, Aero show, Auto Expo, Go Cart/ Car Rally- Project, Organic Farmer Mandi, Career Counselling, Motivational Lectures, Science Live Experiments, different department Pavilions, Book Exhibitions,  AICTE Schemes & Scholarships, Competitions under National Science Day Celebration, cultural activities  and Food Court were main attractions of the Science and Technology extravaganza, which  attracted students from the region.

In an inspirational speech,  Vikas Garg (who is also Chairman of Board of Governors, MRSPTU), said Science and Technology are the basis of any country’s progress; it is not necessary that science is the responsibility of a particular scientific community, every common man can also create an interest in Innovation and Connect himself with science & Technology to contribute in the development of Nation. He emphasized on the role of such fairs for disseminating science.

Garg  stressed on the need for quality education, introduction of  need based new courses, inclusion of  Industry related subjects in the  curricula and making  education employment-oriented to enable students to achieve their goal.

Expressing happiness over the end of Covid 19 era return of normalcy in study in educational institutions,  Garg promised to work on improving the infrastructure in Technical Education, which plays a vital important role in growth.

Garg said providing quality education will empower students of the country to compete in equivalence with students of any international university. He also said that students need to be motivated to study in the country to stop the brain drain. He said it was the duty of the educational institutions to ensure that apart from granting degrees they prepared a curriculum suiting the talent of each youth so that they could secure jobs as per capabilities.

Prof. Buta Singh Sidhu listed the achievements of the university and importance of the Science and Tech Expo. He also discussed the philosophy of science and its significance to understand nature and life.

Prof. Gursharan Singh Randhawa (former professor from Indian Institute of Technology, Roorke and renowned motivator Prof.  Lalit Mohan Sharma delivered impressive lectures on Career Counselling.

Registrar, Dr. Gurinder Pal Singh Brar presented vote of thanks. Deans, Directors and senior faculty of the University were present on the occasion.
