No congress leader from Punjab found place in 47-members steering committee

Newly elected All India Congress Committee president Mallikarjun Kharge on Wednesday announced a 47-members steering committee to conduct the affairs of the party which would work function in place of the Congress Working Committee.
The list includes Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi all Congress Working Committee members were also made a part of the steering committee.As per the list no congress leader from Punjab found place in 47-members steering committee, the party’s highest decision-making authority.
Only Ambika Soni, who has distant relations with Punjab politics, is in the list. She remained Rajya Sabha MP from Punjab and lost the lok sabha election when she was parachuted by the congress party to fight lok sabha elections in 2014 from anandpur Sahib seat.
As per convention, after the election of a new Congress President, the CWC is dissolved and a steering committee is formed to conduct the affairs of the party.
Earlier in the day, all members of the Working Committee, general secretaries and in-charges tendered their resignations to the new Congress president.
