No rules for VIP inmate Majithia; gets VIP treatment inside, outside jail?

From the day one, Bikram Singh Majithia, senior akali dal leader, who is lodged in the Patiala Central jail in a drug case, remained in controversy, for getting special treatment.
It’s an open secret now that shiromani akali dal senior leader Bikram Singh Majithia, who has been lodged in the Patiala central jail in a drug case, is getting a special treatment and rules are flouted for him, both inside and outside the jail premises.
It was alleged that “yesterday, Majtihia was taken to Mohali court for his court hearing, as his fourteen day judicial remand was ended on March 8,2022 in a SUV, instead of any government police van or van used to ferry inmates for court hearings . SP City Patiala accompanied him in the vehicle. At Mohali court, he is treated as a VIP person. Even, after court hearing he met Akali dal leaders, workers and addressed a press conference. The gap between his departure from Court and reaching time at Patiala central jail is around three hours, where as any SUV takes 1-1:15 hours to cover this stretch.”
When contacted the superintendent of police (SP) City Harpal Singh, he said “ Majithia was taken in a Innova, belongs to CIA Patiala. He is a Z plus protectee, that’s why I accompanied in the vehicle. He further added that no special treatment is given to him. We left the court premises at around two pm and reached around quarter to five at Patiala.
The jail authorities remained linnet, from the day one. They allow the shiromani akali dal leaders to meet him, even without following proper procedure. As per rules, an under trial is allowed to meet a family member twice a week while a convict is allowed only once a week. However, the local jail authorities had passed the buck to the higher-ups for the concession.
