Noble Beginning -IMA Patiala in association with WDW Patiala celebrated GIRL CHILD LOHRI at Rajindra Hospital

Women members of Indian Medical Association Patiala, visited gynecology department of Rajindra medical college under supervision of Dr HS Raikhy (MS), Dr Preet Kanwal Sibia Dr Sarabjeet,Dr satinder pal and celebrated girl child Lohri . They presented all the children born on Lohri and MAKAR Sakranti with warm blankets and distributed sweets.
In their mission against girl child abortions or female foeticide, they spread awareness that daughters are no less than sons. In fact in today’s world, daughters take more care of their parents than the sons as daughters are softhearted, and they cherish their parents lifelong in their hearts.
They asked all the parents to educate their girls and make them self dependent. In today’s world where women are reaching the moon, female foeticide and gender discrimination are curses on our society. Females should be given equal right to education and then they can do wonders. The members of women doctors wing stated that girls children in villages are not even given good diet so they are grossly anemic and malnourished.
To fight this, Women Doctors Wing (WDW) also announced the launch of Mission Pink Health Dr Nidh Bansal said under this mission they will screen girls and boys for anemia in various schools in the district and provide adequate medicines and diet advice to those found anemic.
Dr Chandermohini, President IMA said that they will visit various schools in the district and conduct blood tests after screening children and provide for medicines to all those found anemic till the time they get better .
