NTAS felicitates Manpreet Badal at World Pbi Conference
Pran Sabharwal, a noted socio-theatre activists, director Patiala based National Theatre Arts Society (NTAS) urged the Government, art akademies and Punjabi loving people across the world to strengthen Punjabi Theatre movement in order to improve the taste of appreciation of the people for Punjabi language and promote Indianness and Gurbani greatness around the world.
Sabharwal was speaking, while felicitating Punjab Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal, the chief guest at the valedictory session of two day 6th World Punjabi Conference, concluded at Kala Bhawan, Chandigarh. Sabharwal, fellow Theatre and Television Department Punjabi University is a regular visitor of World Punjabi Conferences since 1990, asserted that theatre is an effective audio-visual, most powerful media in this digital and diminishing reading habits age, which can serve a great instrumental in spreading Punjabi language, literature, heritage and diverting youth from drugs, idling and impatience to creativity and self employment.
Sabharwal, former member Punjab State Cultural Affairs Advisory Board lauded conference chairman H.S. Hanspal Ex. M.P. a great supporter of Punjabi, Punjabiat for the immense success of the conference and bringing world’s Punjabis at one platform. Sabharwals greeted the valedictory session Presidium including Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal, Dr. Surjit Patar, H.S. Hanspal , Dr. S.S. Johal, Satnam Singh Manak, Gurbhej Singh Goraya, guests Prof. B.S. Ghumman, VC Punjabi University, Satguru Udey Singh and organizers Dr. Deepak Manmohan Singh, Dr. Lakhwinder Singh Johal and Dr. Ravail Singh. He lauded their constant efforts in the cause of Punjabi language and welfare of Punjabis.
