National Theatre Arts Society (NTAS) Patiala observed their 211th episode of 18 year old Monthly Garden Theatre Movement, first of its kind in India as “Pollution-Free Garden Theatre Festival” at Baradari Gardens, here.

The festival, organised by duo Pran Sabharwal-Sunita Sabharwal in association with “Sarbat Da Bhala Charitable Trust”, included plays “Supnian Di Maut” by Anayat Ali’s “Laran Ge  Sathi” theatre group and sensitizing plays such as “Avaisle Yuddhan Di Naika”, “Sukki Kukh”, “So Kiyon Manda Akhiye”, “Sabz Baag” on Swachh Bharat along with musicals and dances by NTAS artists.

Chief guest Dr. Sawraj Singh,special guests NRI Amarjeet Baweja, writer-columnist (Canada), socialite Shyam Lal Navyug and Anil Kumar Sarwal, Chief Manager SBI Sai Market branch, inaugurated the festival by paying floral  tributes and offering Prasad at the idol of Lord Shiva. They lauded NTAS’ director duo Pran Sabharwal-Sunita Sabharwal, President Gurbachan Singh Kakkar and NTAS chief patron S.P. Singh Oberoi (Dubai) for their relentless efforts to keep moving theatre movement in this part of the country.

Dr. Sawraj exhorted the women participants of “Mee Too” movement to learn lesson from the bold “Naika”, (played by Sweeti Rajput) in the play “Avaisle Yuddan Di Naika”, who does not succumb to the advances of the villian (Vaibhav Bansal) and boldly take cudgels against him and ultimately kills him.
